Conversing with Musical Instruments
I offer individual lessons in piano (or electric keyboard), acoustic guitar, ukulele, and recorder. See the About page for my bio.
I enjoy teaching both adults and children. It is never too late to start learning an instrument as a beginner! I generally recommend that children younger than 7 would gain the most from group classes in ‘General Music,’ which focuses on group singing, rhythmic movement games, and fundamental listening skills, rather than individual technical instruction on an instrument.
I generally prefer to teach regular weekly lessons, and I recommend 30-minute, 45-minute, or hour-long lessons, depending on the student’s level and experience. Beginning students generally do best with 30-minute or 45-minute weekly lessons; while students with one or two years of experience do best with hour-long lessons. Lessons are priced at $35 per 30-minute, $50 per 45-minute, and $60 per hour-long lesson.
